    The correct answer is (D).

    The role of the European Union is basically to promote a kind freedom among its members. These countries work together towards economic and political goals. Although we can undoubtedly say that the European Union respect all countries in the world and gives advice, it does neither interfere nor attempts to reflect the interests of any nation outside of Europe.
