The people who migrated to the northern cities to obtain better living conditions through the search for work in industrialized cities were African-Americans. This migration was popularly known as the Great Black Migration and had its origins at the beginning of the twentieth century, exactly between the years 1915 to 1930. The reason for this migration was to flee from racism and the dispute to get jobs between African Americans and European immigrants who came from places where the main activity was agriculture.
