The English Bill of Rights was an act of Parliament that established basic civil rights in England. It limited the power of the government and established the rights of Parliament. It also established certain rights of individuals. On the other hand, the Act of Settlement was an Act of Parliament that settled the succession to the English and Irish crowns on Protestants only. Some of the changes these documents brought were:

They allowed for free speech and open discussion in Parliament. They allowed Protestants to be armed for their own defense once more. They allowed the English and Irish crowns to be passed to Protestants only.
