How does this shift in focus make voters more or less politically informed?

For example, it is possible that this is a consequence of support for local media declining. This means that some local news agencies have been closed, making it impossible for them to report on news. Another possible reason is the fact that the country is becoming more interconnected. This can mean that people are more interested in what happens in other regions of the country because they feel close to them.

The consequence of this is that people might lose interest in local politics, which can lead them to be uninformed or politically inactive. This can be very dangerous, as people are more closely affected by state policies than by federal ones.
