    Tripartite Pact

    Explanation:

The Tripartite Pact, also known as the Pact of the Axis, was a pact signed in Berlin on September 27, 1940 by Saburō Kurusu, Adolf Hitler and Galeazzo Ciano, representing the Empire of Japan, Nazi Germany and the Kingdom of Italy, respectively. This pact constituted a military alliance between these nations, and officially formed the Forces of the Axis, opposed to the Allied Forces in the Second World War.

In the following months, the kingdoms of Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia adhered to the pact - the first three to receive territory in the Balkans, and the last to avoid being invaded. The Slovak Republic also acceded to the Pact following the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia.
