The Reapportion Act of 1929 was passed because more representatives for the House of Representatives was needed. Before the Reapportion Act, there was only 391 seats in the house of representatives, but due to the fact that the United States population was increasing tremendously, they needed more. representatives to represent the people. Each representative represents about 30,000 people, and during the time, there wasn't enough representatives to represent people in the United States. That's the reason why they added more seats in the house.
