Theft laws in the Justinian Code try to resolve fraudulent behavior where one person takes another person's property without knowledge, that is the person steals it. If a person steals it then the owner can accuse him and go to court and if the premises of the person accused are searched and the object is found then the person has to pay a fine that is 4 times the price of the commodity, or 2 times for simple theft.
