That's a bit of a false question, I think.

I'd go with D, but realistically there was some fear of African empires. What about the Muslim empires of northern africa, or the barbary pirates, or the great empires of West Africa?

I don't really think you can just answer that one - I'd complain to whoever made it to be honest.
