Here are a few things Jesus taught that were contrary to the times (and evn today) : love your neighbor as yourself; love your enemy ... turn the other cheek (if your enemy strikes you); give to those in need; pay taxes (render to Ceasar the things due to him); do good even on the Sabbath (doing good is an obligation!).
