A president can only serve 2 terms, or a total of 8 years as long as they aren't impeached.

Franklin D Rossevelt was the only one elected with more than two terms by being elected for 4 of them, due to his popularity, but he passed away shortly in his fourth term. A president can only serve two terms, because after that, someone else deserves to have a chance on what changes could be made.
