In the beginning of the 1920s there was a Stock Market Crash that led to the Great Depression. Banks shut down so people lost their life savings. People stopped spending their money which caused businesses to close. During this time Racial segregation was a main view in the U. S. which made it harder for the Blacks to get jobs.

These caused several factors in which

-Many were commuting suicide due to starvation

    -Kids were dying

    - No food

    -No jobs
