What were some of the difficulties in attempting to create the first transcontinental railroad in the United States?

a. The western portions of the railroad would have to go through mountains.

b. There were hundreds of miles where no water would be available for workers.

c. There were constant threats of attacks by Native Americans.

d. Each of these presented a difficulty for the companies trying to build the first transcontinental railroad.

    Well each answer here is a great answer but the answer to your question would be A and C because you some mountains ranges but also you had Native Americans who lived on land so transcontinental railroad was a bit a challenge but they got through it.
