The U. S. Supreme Court is the last court of appeals. What does that mean?

    Well I learned that Jurisdiction extends to all federal cases with such Exceptions and under those Regulations as the Congress shall make Until 1891 losing parties in the lower federal courts and state courts of last resort had the right to appeal their cases to the Supreme Court. That's what I was taught
