I can't really read that very well, it's kind of jumbled together and hurts my head, but I can tell you that carpetbaggers were Northerners who went south during Reconstruction to plunder the South, and Scalawags were Southerners who were Radical Republicans, which was the North's party and wanted total rights for the freedmen.
