What was a result of European settlement in South Africa in the early 1900s?

What happened in th early 1900s was that the Europeans which had most of the power and resources would create a parliamentary system of government which would exclude certain citizens. It was not coincidental that part of these citizens were people of colors and that the ones who stayed at power were white.
