How was Julius Caesar popularity threatened senators who eventually murder him. You must mention the crossing of the rubicon, and the significance of this event.

    Caesar was murdered because he became too popular. Caesar became a dictator after crossing the Rubicon. This ultimately led to his death because, once a senator, others were worried he was becoming too popular. The other senators were worried Caesar would have too much influence.
