    4 (2r - 1) = - 2 (3r + 16) ... distribute thru the parenthesis

    8r - 4 = - 6r - 32

    8r + 6r = - 32 + 4

    14r = - 28

    r = - 28/14

    r = - 2 <===

    4 (2r-1) = - 2 (3r + 16)

    Distribute 4 and 2 in brackets

    8r-4 = - 6r-32

    8r+6r = - 32+4

    14r = - 28

    r = - 28/14

    r = - 2
