    To find the x-intercepts of the function, use the quadratic formula:

    (-b± √ (b^2-4ac)) / 2a

    Plug in the values of the function x^2+2x-15 and note that the a value is 1, the b value is 2, and the c value is - 15:

    (-2± √ (2^2-4 (1) (-15))) / 2 (1)

    When simplified you should get:

    (-2 ± √64) / 2

    Then, when you simplify further, you get two fractions:

    6 / 2 and - 10/2

    These fractions simplify to your two values of x which are 3 and - 5 which would be your x-intercepts,

    (3,0) and (-5,0)
