5 + (-15) = - 10. - 10 + 7 = - 3. - 3 + (-13) = - 16. - 16 + 1 = - 15
Mean = - 15/5 = - 3

(5 - 15 + 7 - 13 + 1) / 5
= - 25/5
= - 5
To find mean simply add up the numbers and divide by the number of numbers as shown above.
