The path of a rotating fan has a diameter of about 18 inches and a circumference of about 56 inches. The path of a smaller model of the fan has a circumference of about 9 inches. What is the diameter of the rotation path of the smaller model?

    Proportionately the smaller diameter is 18*9/56=81/28=2.89". Approximately 3 inches.
