    Length = 3x and width = x

    perimeter = 48 = 2 (3x) + 2x

    8x = 48

    x = 6

    dimensions are width = 6 and length = 18

    2l + 2w = 48

    3w = l

    2 (3w) + 2w = 48

    6w + 2w = 48

    8w = 48

    /8 / 8

    w = 6

    2l + 2 (6) = 48

    2l + 12 = 48

    -12 - 12

    2l = 36

    /2 / 2

    l = 18

    Length is 18 width is 6
