Numerators are the top half of a fraction, denominators are the bottom half. In the fraction 3/4, the numerator is 3 and the denominator is 4

The numerator is the top half showing how much of something you have.

While the denominator is the bottom half which is letting you know the max amount you can have. So 3/4 means you have 3 items and can only have 4.
