The volume of two similar firgures is 135ft ^3 and 625ft^3. the area of the smaller figure is 61ft^2. what is the area of the larger firgure?

    Scale factor for the 2 figures = cube root 135 : cube root 625 = 5.13 : 8.55

    so ratio of the squares = 5.13^2 : 8.55^2 = 26.3 : 73.1

    Therefore area of larger figure = (73.1/26.3) * 61 = 170 ft^2 to nearest ft^2.
