A company pays its commercial agents 5% of any deal. What should the value of a deal be for the agent to earn $2000?

    The value of the deal should be $40,000.

    remember that 5% as a decimal is. 05. Let x = value of deal

    The equation would be. 05x = $2000

    Divide both sides by 0.05.

    x=40,000
