3 by 3 cube is constructed of 27 blocks. How many blocks are needed to construct a cube with twice the dimensions of the original cube?

    "Twice the dimensions" means the length, width, and height

    of the new cube are all 6.

    To build that cube, you need (6 x 6 x 6) = 216 blocks.
