Find the zeros of the function. State the multiplicity of any multiple zeros.

    Hi,

    Pretty simple: if a result of a multiplication is equal to 0, then each factor is equal to 0.

    y = f (x) = (x - - 5) (x + 2) ² = 0, so:

    x₁ - - 5 = 0 ⇒ x₁ = 5.

    (x + 2) ² = 0 ⇒ x₂ = x₃ = - -2, for - -2 we have state of multiplicity = 2.
