    51=2x-5 (3x+21)

    you multiply - 5 and 3x=-15x = - 15x and - 5 multiply 21=105

    51=2x-15x-105

    multiply 2x and - 15x = -13x

    51 = - 31x-105

    31x=-105-51

    13x=-156

    Answer x=-12
