There are a total of 127 cars and trucks on a lot. If there are four more than twice the number of trucks than cars, how many cars and trucks are on the lot?

    C + t = 127;

    t = 2c + 4;

    then, c + 2c + 4 = 127;

    3c = 123;

    c = 123 / 3;

    c = 41 (cars)

    t = 2 * 41 + 4 = 88 (trucks).
