I'm thinking that one day's provisions could be thought of as 1 box.

so 150 soldiers x 45 days = 6750 boxes

if the soldiers left after d days, then

(150 x d) + (120 x 25) = 6750

(150 x d) = 6750 - 3000

150 x d = 3750

d = 25

IF 30 soldiers leave camp that means their food supply will last 20% longer (30/150*100=20%) This means that the 25days represents 120% so if we divide by this figure we can arrive at the figure it would be if the soldiers remained in camp (25/120*100=20.83333r. If we now take this from the original 45 days this will give the day the 30 soldiers decamp which is 24.166667 days. They will leave on the 25th day because it's fractionally lapsed over 24 i, m guessing they would leave after breakfast, bacon and eggs yummy
