At a baseball game, the ratio of Barons fans to Blue Sox fans is 8 : 3. If you know that at least 22,000 people are attending the game, at least how many Blue Sox fans are there?

    When we look at ratios, we use for : against and add both to get the total in the set. therefore 8+3 = 11. divide the 22000 fans into 11 sections we have each section worth 2000 fans. The number of blue sox fans would be 3 x 2000 or 6000 fans with the remaining 16000 being baron fans.
