Nelsons manufactures baseballs at a cost of $7.50 each with fixed costs of $10,000. If one baseball sells for $12, how many must they sell to make a profit of $12,000?

    Profit = revenue - expenses

    12000 = 12x - (7.50x + 10,000)

    12,000 = 12x - 7.50x - 10,000

    12,000 + 10,000 = 4.5x

    22,000 = 4.5x

    22,000 / 4.5 = x

    4888.88 rounds to 4889 = x ... 4889 baseballs
