I dont think math can ever be fun:rubeyes:

    x2 + 14x + 49

    a2 + 3a - 10

    p2 - 2p + 1

if u can explain those itll be great:up:jen11-07-06, 03:04 PMwheres the equals signs?

well collect the terms ... which means put all the a's together and al the x's and so on

    for example 2a + 3a = 5a

its doesnt matter if u write it 2a or a2 it means the same thing

the basics is that the letters just represent another amount just imagine for now that the a's reresent chairs

so 2a (two chairs) plus 3a (three chairs) is equal to 5a (5 chairs)

i hope thats what ur after as i cant really see any equals signs so for the moment i can only say collect the terms together

    2x + 14x + 49 = 16x + 49 and leave at that for now

but what does the question actually ask for? does it ask for simplyfying or to find the value of x? and a? and p?
