Is product of a rational number and an irrational number always irrational?

    True.

    For example,

    2sqrt (2) = sqrt (8) ... irrational

    3pi ... irrational

    Since a rational can always be represented by a fraction, while an irrational cannot, therefore the product of the two will not be represented by a fraction, therefore irrational.
