The perimeter of a rectangle is 276 centimeters. It's length is five times its width. What are the dimensions?

    Think of this this way

    length = 5x

    width = x

    perimeter = 276

    Its always easier to write down your givens in an equation

    5x + x + x + 5x = 276

    12x = 276

    x = 23

    The width is 23 cm

    The length is 115 cm
