5 - (2x+3) < (or equal to) - 6x+2 (x+1)

    First you need to distribute 5 - (2x+3) which would equal 5-2x-3

    Then do the same on the other side for 2 (x+1) which would equal - 6x+2x+2

    After you distribute you are left with 5-2x-3 < (or equal to) - 6x+2x+2

    Now you need to combine like terms so 5-3 is 2 and on the other side combine - 6x + 2x to get - 4x

    Now you have 2-2x < - 4x+2

    Add your x to one side so I took the 2 on the left and added it to the - 4 on the right and got - 2x

    You are left with 2 < - 2x + 2

    Subtract the 2 on the right and you get 0

    final answer is 0 < x but the variable should be on the left so switch it to

    x < o

    5 - (2x + 3) < - 6 + 2 (x+1)

    5-2x-3 < - 6x+2x+2

    2-2x < - 4x+2

    2<-2x + 2
