A 1 kg apple sits on a table. What is the normal force of the table acting on the apple?

    If weight is mass * acceleration of gravity and the normal force is equal to the weight acted on the table by the apple, normal force = mass * gravity

    [tex] N = 1kg * (9.8 / frac{m}{s^{2}}) / /

    N = 9.8newtons [tex]

    So the normal force of a 1kg apple on a table is 9.8 Newtons of force.
