An optical fiber is made of clear plastic (n = 1.50). Light travels through the fiber at angles ranging from 40° to 55°. What is the measurement of the critical angle of this fiber?

    1/sinc = 1.50

    sinc = 1/1.5

    critical angle = sininverse (1/1.5) = 41.8
