The amount of work we are doing is equal to the product of force applied to it with displacement of the object due to the force.
Explanation:
Work done to move an object or displace an object is equal to the product of force applied to it with the displacement occurred by the object. So the work done will be equal to the applied force to the object if the object has undergone a displacement of 1 m.
And, also the force should be provided parallel to the motion direction of the object so the angle between the force and displacement will be zero. Thus the work done will be equal to forces if the displacement is 1 m and if the forces are acting parallel to the motion of the object.
