How many moles of carbon are in 5.0 moles of CH4?

    from the molecular formula of CH₄, we see that

    one molecule of CH₄ contains 1 atom of carbon and 4 atoms of hydrogen.

    in the same way, if we have 1 mole of CH₄, it will contain 1 mole of carbon and 4 moles of hydrogen

    similarly, if we have 5 moles of CH₄, it will contain 5 x 1 mole of carbon and 4 x 5 moles of hydrogen

    so in 5 moles of CH₄, we have 5 moles of carbon
