A homogeneous mixture can be a mixture of salt and water or isopropyl alcohol and water. A mixture can also be heterogeneous, meaning a mixture made up of more than one phase or of different parts and can be separated physically. A heterogeneous mixture can be a tossed salad or a bowl of raisin bran cereal.
