Why is it important to consider the historical context surrounding an event

when making a historical interpretation?

    Answer: if there is no context, the event gets isolated. Isolating events is one of the strategies of propaganda, indoctrination and manipulation.

    Explanation: context gives us frame of reference, spirit of the time (Zeitgeist) and thus we view things from better perspective. If not, we tend to project our own contemporary perspective on the event.
