    Explanation:

    The autonomy versus shame and doubt is one of the stages in Erik Erikson's stages of psychological development. It is the second stage in psychological development and it occurs between the ages of 18 months to about two (2) or three (3) years. At this stage the children are focused on having a greater sense of self control from what to wear, what to eat, what toys to play with. The parents should praise the child as they develop and acquire new skills such as walking.
