    This is because there was an easy access to ports for trading.

    Permanent settlement was advantageous to British because 11% of the revenue remained with the zamindars and 89% of the revenue was handed over to the Britishers. Britishers get more profit. if the revenue was not payed the zamindars siezed their property.
