This type of data is categorized in the nominal scale since the answers that are required are binary. "Yes" or "no". There is no scale with different responses to choose from that would make the test more sensitive.

In conclusion, since the answers are nominal and the test is less sensitive a Chi square test is applicable. Had there been a variety of responses other tests would be applicable here.
