How does a state become either red or blue. (Democratic or Republican)

    Depends on their electoral votes

    If during an election a state is either red or blue, that mean that the majority of that state voted either republican (red) or democrat (blue). If not during an election, which ever color it is is from past information collected from residents of the state.
