What is the definition of poverty, and where does "dignity" (or lack thereof) come in? what are some elements of life under conditions of poverty that can be described as challenging one's dignity?

    The definition of poverty is: the state of being extremely poor. The definition of dignity is: the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect. A lot of those in poverty do not have very much dignity because others look down on them for multiple reasons: Not having the same stuff they have (phone, clothes, food) and not having the same privileges as them such as being able to shower, being able to go to school and having a place to live. They often get looked down upon for these reasons and also because people think they are more "higher up" than poor people because they are more privileged and have more things.
