Why does Bcl3 and SiCl4 dissolve in water, where as ccl4 can't dissolve in water

    SiCl4 is not polar.

    BCl3 is slightly polar.

    Water is very polar. Likes dissolve in likes.

    They don't react with water because neither has base or acid properties.
