How many roots, real or complex, does the polynomial 7+5x^4-3x^2 have in all?

    This polynomial had exactly 4 roots.

    You can tell this because it is the highest power of polynomial. Even though it is not the power in front, 5x^4 is the highest power and therefore by the definition of polynomial roots, is the number there are.
