If 5 water waves pass you by in 2 seconds what is the frequency of the wave? what is the period?

    Frequency can be thought of as "waves per second". Here that's

    f = 5/2 = 2.5Hz

    The period is "seconds per wave". Here that's

    T = 2/5 = 0.4s.

    Note that period = 1/frequency

    and frequency = 1/period
